For years I struggled with the perfect storage solution for my craft items, then Tanya started getting crafty and I had more items to find storage for.
The main reason I struggle is because I don’t like miss matched containers, boxes, baskets etc. I like to use the same item because I know it works and it looks good and in all honesty I like things to look nice. I also found a lot of the items I did like were more than what I was willing to pay for or were going to be a deleted item.
You name it I have more than likely brought it, tried it and then re-homed it! So when I came across these large clear container from a bargain store I purchased 2 ‘to see’ if they were what I was after and guess what….they were and for $8 each I thought that was pretty good too!
Being the size that they are they allow me to store books up to A4 size, paint, pens, glue sticks, smaller containers and all sorts of other bits in them. Being clear we can see exactly what’s in them, I do label them just because I can’t see everything in them (the joy of being short). And they are stackable! I may have done a little happy dance when I brought them home.
Then came the fun bit…deciding how I was going to categorise all the items. This took a bit of time as I wanted similar items together. I finally decided on:
1: paint & brushes
2: activity & educational books
3: craft items
4: craft kits & paper
They sit on the second top shelf in the cupboard in my craft room. The cupboards actually a double door wardrobe so I’m able to stack 3 on top of each other.
